NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say shots were fired during an attempted robbery behind a New Castle liquor store, but no one was injured by the gunfire.
Police say two men walked up behind a 27-year-old man as he walked through the parking lot behind Joey’s Liquors on Basin Road early Sunday. Police say the men demanded his property and when he didn’t comply a struggle began.
That’s when police say one man pulled out a gun and hit the victim on the shoulder with it. During the struggle, police say the gun fired multiple times, but there were no reports of injuries from the gunfire.
The attackers fled empty-handed in a vehicle and police say the victim was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
