GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Grand Forks police have arrested a man who allegedly broke into a woman’s apartment and tried to sexually assault her while she was sleeping.

Authorities say the woman awoke about 3 a.m. Monday to find a man pulling down her underwear. She fled and called police.

Officers who responded arrested 19-year-old Jeremiah Begay, who was staying in the apartment below the woman. Police say he is a transient construction worker from Pinon, Ariz.

Begay is charged with felony burglary and two misdemeanors: sexual assault and possession of alcohol by a minor. Court documents do not list an attorney for him.

The woman was not hurt.
