BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - Jury selection has begun in the reckless homicide trial of the driver of a semi-trailer truck that struck and killed a firefighter in McLean County has year.

The (Bloomington) Pantagraph (https://bit.ly/1dJ76AN) reports that jury selection in the trial of Mansur Shakirov, of Spokane, Wash., started on Monday morning.

The 29-year-old Shakirov is charged in the March 5, 2013, death of Chris Brown. Brown was working as a volunteer firefighter with the Hudson Fire Department when a truck driven by Shakirov crashed into three emergency vehicles that had responded to a crash on Interstate 39.



Five other emergency responders were injured.
