DENVER (AP) - This week’s Bill To Watch in the Colorado Legislature

THE BILL:

Senate Bill 103, to phase out low-efficiency water fixtures.

WHAT IT DOES:

The bill would prohibit the sale of low-efficiency plumbing fixtures by 2016. The measure would make it illegal to sell new faucets, showerheads and toilets that aren’t certified by the federal government as efficient “WaterSense” fixtures.

WHO WANTS IT?

Democrats say the measure is a needed step to preserve water in the face of expected population growth.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
