ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (AP) - The city of Rocky Mount is recognizing its own diversity with a festival.
A series of events honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will conclude with the International Festival of Cultures, which is sponsored by the City of Rocky Mount, the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission and Nash Community College. It’s scheduled for Brown Auditorium at Nash Community College.
Human Relations Director Archie Jones said the festival will include songs, dance and clothing from various cultures.
Participants will have booths in which artifacts, painting and clothing will be displayed. Those attending the festival can see demonstrations on Japanese martial arts, and there will be a free food tasting.
