OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - The science of nanomedicine related to cardiovascular disease is the focus of next month’s Omaha Science Cafe.
Matthew Zimmerman, an associate professor in the department of cellular and integrative physiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, will be the featured expert at the March 4 event. Nanomedicine involves manipulating matter at the molecular level to treat or repair single cells within individually targeted cells. Zimmerman’s research focuses on development of a potentially new therapeutic target in the fight against high blood pressure.
Science Cafes are free educational events sponsored by UNMC and other groups to increase people’s science literacy. They are open to everyone 21 and older.
