HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a pedestrian is in critical condition at a Huntsville hospital after he was struck by a train.

Huntsville police are investigating the crash, which happened around 8 p.m. Friday on Derrick Street near Hall Avenue in Huntsville.

Police tell WAFF-TV (https://bit.ly/1mS4OSr) that it appeared a man was sitting or walking on the tracks when he was hit. The victim was found under Interstate 565, near the homeless camp known as Tent City.



He was taken to Huntsville Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
