ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) - Three northern New Jersey men who prosecutors say robbed another man at gunpoint after he declined to buy a cellphone have been sentenced to state prison terms.

Union County prosecutors say 19-year-old Denroy Dunkley and 20-year-old Ridgy Vincent, both of Union Township, and Lamont James, a 20-year-old Georgia resident, each received seven-year sentences on Friday.

The robbery occurred in February 2013 when the man contacted the three defendants online and offered to buy the phone. The three then met with him in a car parked on a Union Township street.

Prosecutors say that when the man decided against buying the phone, James pulled out a handgun, pointed it at him and demanded money. After getting about $400, the bandits fled. They were captured a short time later.
