MUSCATINE, Iowa (AP) - In a story May 31 about an investigation into a death of a man at a Muscatine metal fabrication plant, The Associated Press reported erroneously that federal workplace safety employees would lead the inquiry. The investigation will be conducted by state employees of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

State workplace safety investigators looking into on-job death of 29-year-old Iowa man

MUSCATINE, Iowa (AP) - State workplace safety investigators are looking into the death of a 29-year-old man at a Muscatine metal fabrication plant.

The Muscatine Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1oI7hmp ) that Torkor Dahn died May 23 while working at Fabricators Plus, in Muscatine.

An autopsy was performed at the University of Iowa, and medical examiners are waiting on the results to state a cause of death.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been initiated by the state Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA.

Iowa OSHA Administrator Stephen Slater says the length of time to conduct the investigation is still undetermined.

Managers with the company declined to comment to the newspaper about Dahn’s death.
