SYRACUSE, Utah (AP) - Syracuse police say a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody after leading officers on a chase through a park and residential area in a stolen car.
A video obtained by Ogden’s Standard-Examiner (https://bit.ly/1n1IqqB ) shows the Sunset teen speeding across the grass of Founders Park in Syracuse, prompting a parent to shout warnings and children to run away.
Police broke off the chase after the car entered the park because of safety concerns, and the car then entered a residential area.
The chase ended Saturday evening when the car struck a truck owned by a man who sought to block the suspect from entering the park a third time.
The boy was unharmed and taken into custody.
Police say a firearm was found in the car, and the car was stolen in Duchesne County earlier Saturday.
