PARSONBURG, Md. (AP) - Investigators say two people were seriously injured after their Parsonburg home caught fire.

According to the Daily Times of Salisbury (https://tinyurl.com/n58ezgu), the state Fire Marshal’s Office says the one-story home caught fire shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday. Investigators say the fire was caused by someone smoking while using oxygen.

Residents Eddie and Joanna Sheridan were both injured. Eddie Sheridan was transferred to a burn center in Baltimore in critical condition with smoke inhalation. Joanna Sheridan received second-degree burns to both legs.



Investigators say the occupants had disabled the smoke detectors inside the home. Damage is estimated at $70,000.
