PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State Patrol says a trooper’s excessive speed caused a collision with two other vehicles on Highway 101 east of Port Angeles.
Trooper Travis Beebe (bee-bee) forfeited four vacation days and had to complete 40 hours of driver training because of the Nov. 29 crash while he was chasing another car.
Patrol spokesman Sgt. Jason Hicks told the Peninsula Daily News (https://is.gd/8VXcTe) no further sanctions will result from the crash report Thursday from the major accident investigation team.
The crash prompted a protest in December by more than four-dozen people at the Clallam County Courthouse. It was organized by the family of a Forks man who died in a motorcycle crash in May 2012 while being chased by Trooper Beebe.
