CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) - School officials in southern Illinois’ Jackson County say five students were suffered minor injuries during an accident involving their school bus and a car.
The Giant City School District tells WSIL-TV (https://bit.ly/1bdwVEx) that the students were taken to a Carbondale hospital for slight head and neck injuries resulting from the accident. It happened about 7:30 a.m. Friday just south of Carbondale.
Nine other students on the bus were released at the scene to their parents.
The accident is being investigated. There’s no immediate word on any charges.
