PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Portland opened a new $20 million emergency coordination center Thursday to improve the city’s ability to respond to earthquakes and other disasters.
Emergency Management Director Carmen Merlo says its information and communication technologies could even help in a flu pandemic.
KGW reports (https://bit.ly/1edzgFx ) the facility also houses the Portland Water Bureau’s emergency management and security offices.
