LOCHEARN, Md. (AP) - Maryland State police say a landscaper working on the shoulder on Interstate 695 was struck and killed by a pickup truck.

It happened about 2 p.m. Friday in I-695 near Liberty Road. Troopers say a truck driven by 54-year-old Brian K. Seitz of Marriottsville was traveling in the highway when the vehicle left the road and continued on the shoulder.

Police say the truck hit 54-year-old John C. Kahl of Port Deposit, who worked for a subcontractor for the State Highway Administration.



Kahl was pronounced dead the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
