NEW YORK (AP) - A 37-year-old New York City man driving a livery van with no passengers has died after slamming into the rear of an empty delivery truck that was double parked on a Brooklyn avenue.
Police say doctors pronounced Elin Medar dead at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center following the 1:40 p.m. crash Friday.
They say investigators believe Medar was driving west on Foster Avenue when he hit the back of a delivery truck that was parked outside a restaurant at the intersection of McDonald and Foster Avenues.
There were no other injuries reported. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
