LANGSTON, Okla. (AP) - State and local authorities are investigating after a burned body was found near Langston in Logan County.

Logan County Chief Deputy Richard Stephens says Langston police notified the sheriff’s office of a body apparently on fire on a county road about 3 p.m. Friday.

Stephens says the victim was bound and the body appeared to have been dumped and set on fire. He says the body was burned too badly to determine whether the victim was male or female.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been asked to assist in the case.
