WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Bond has been set at $2 million for a man accused in a Williston-area homicide.
Forty-eight-year-old Tovias Carrillo is accused in the death of 51-year-old Juan Palacios, whose body was found Tuesday beneath a mattress along U.S. Highway 1804 about 13 miles east of Williston.
Carrillo is charged with murder and also two counts of terrorizing, for allegedly threatening people on Dec. 9 and Jan 24. Court documents don’t list an attorney for him, nor do they give an age or hometown.
The Williston Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1fD7NtS ) that no new details of the case emerged during Thursday’s bond hearing.
Carrillo is due back in court on Feb. 21 for a preliminary hearing on the charges, which could put him in prison for life if he’s convicted.
