BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - The City Council plans to change its ordinance and allow fireworks to be sold in the city.

Councilman David Fayard tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/LiU1mc ) Biloxi benefits from the sales tax when residents legally can shoot fireworks.

Community development director Jerry Creel says a stand that city officials allowed to sell fireworks earlier this month generated $70,000 in sales taxes and $4,900 in sales tax.
