PHOENIX (AP) - A man is in custody following the peaceful end of a nearly eight-hour barricade situation in Phoenix.
Police say 39-year-old Wednesday Peralta-Martinez was booked into jail early Friday on suspicion of aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a police officer and criminal damage.
The incident began about 9:30 p.m. Thursday when police responded to domestic violence call.
A woman told police she was being chased by her ex-boyfriend through the courtyard of the apartment complex and had pointed a gun at her.
Police say Wednesday didn’t live at the complex and hid in one of the apartments.
That started a barricade situation that ended about 5 a.m. Friday after hours on negotiations.
Police say walls were damaged inside the apartment and Wednesday apparently was armed only with a pistol pellet gun.
