LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Police in Little Rock say a 77-year-old man has died nearly three months after his grandson allegedly shot him multiple times.

Little Rock police say James Bledsoe died at St. Vincent’s Health System on Jan. 17 as a result of the injuries he sustained in the Nov. 2 incident. Justin Bledsoe was originally charged with domestic battery, but police say he was arrested on Thursday on a first-degree murder charge following the death of James Bledsoe.

The suspect’s mother, Jacqueline Bledsoe, was also treated for non-life threatening injuries following the early November incident. The suspect’s grandmother was in the home when the shooting occurred but fled and wasn’t hurt.

Police haven’t said what prompted the violence.
