GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) - Thieves stripped a house in southern Oregon of practically everything but the kitchen sink while the owners were remodeling it for sale.
The Grants Pass Daily Courier (https://bit.ly/1a4LoYa ) reported Thursday that a real estate agent showing the house in Rogue River discovered the burglary, which occurred between Jan. 16 and 18.
Taken were a refrigerator, an electric range, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, kitchen cabinets and countertops, a water heater, a bathroom sink and medicine cabinet, and carpeting.
The kitchen sink was left behind on the floor.
Owner Lisa Merritt says it looks like the thieves were carpenters who knew what they were doing, because it was done very cleanly and efficiently.
She says nothing was insured, and estimates the loss at $15,000.
