TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - A newspaper is asking the Ohio Supreme Court to force the release of an investigative report on the investment scandal that engulfed the state in 2005.
The Blade in Toledo filed a lawsuit Wednesday asking the inspector general’s office to release the report.
Inspector General Randall Meyer pledged in 2012 to complete the report left unissued by his predecessor, who oversaw the investigation into the scandal involving former coin dealer and Republican fundraiser Tom Noe (NOH’-ee).
The inspector general’s office declined to comment while the lawsuit is pending.
The newspaper (https://bit.ly/1eai8jY ) says the report should be released because the investigation is over.
Noe was convicted of stealing from a fund he oversaw for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. The scandal led to 19 convictions, including then-Gov. Bob Taft.
