CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) - The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 46-year-old man who was wounded several weeks ago in an officer-involved shooting and is now accused of violating terms of his bond.
The sheriff’s office says John Freyta violated his bond by contacting a person involved with a domestic violence case with Freyta.
According to KKTV-TV (https://tinyurl.com/ktyzg7p ), Fremont County deputies were attempting to locate Freyta on Jan. 1 on similar charges when they confronted him and Freyta was shot three times by authorities. Freyta was hospitalized and later released on bond.
Freyta is facing multiple charges including for domestic violence, violation of a protection order, eluding, resisting arrest and second degree assault on a peace officer.
