MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (AP) - Two people were treated for smoke inhalation and a family dog was killed in a fire that swept through a Middletown home.
The fire chief tells The Providence Journal (https://bit.ly/1ezKiQ8 ) that the cause of the Wednesday afternoon fire is still being investigated.
He says when fire crews arrived, flames were coming out the front door and windows.
One person got out of the house without injury. Two people who were in the house at the time were taken to Newport Hospital and released.
