DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - Danbury police say a driver involved in a car crash that killed three people had been suffering from a medical condition that may have contributed to the wreck.
Police Lt. Christian Carroccio told The News-Times of Danbury (https://bit.ly/MyuCXl ) that 45-year-old Edward Kish of Brookfield had the condition before the accident on Tuesday morning. Officials didn’t disclose details of the condition.
The crash killed Kish and a prominent couple from Bethel, 77-year-old William Shannon and his 78-year-old wife, Jane. William Shannon was a former first selectman of Bethel and Jane Shannon was a former town clerk.
Police say Kish’s car veered across South Street and collided with the Shannons’ car, which was pushed into a box truck. Witnesses told police they saw Kish slumped over his steering wheel before the accident.
