RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia’s coordinator of emergency management has retired.
Michael Cline served as the Virginia Department of Emergency Management’s state coordinator since 1998.
He joined the department in 1972 and served as state coordinator on 27 disasters, including five hurricanes.
Brett Burdick is serving as the acting state coordinator until a permanent replacement is appointed by Gov. Terry McAuliffe.
