Civil War-era farmhouse in Pa. destroyed by fire

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) - A northeastern Pennsylvania farm house that was built just after the Civil War has been destroyed by fire.

The blaze started around 7 a.m. Thursday at the home in White Deer Township, north of Lewisburg in Union County.

The homeowner lived there by himself and told WNEP-TV (https://bit.ly/1kegVYU) that it’s not the first time he has had to deal with a devastating fire.

The owner said his stepdaughter was killed in a fire in Milton in 2005.

The fire chief said one firefighter was treated for burns at the scene.

The cause is under investigation.
