ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a bicyclist has been killed after she collided with a Rochester public transit bus and was run over by the vehicle.
Police tell local media outlets that a woman was riding a bike on a street on the city’s east side around 12:45 a.m. Thursday when she apparently steered into the path of a Regional Transit Service.
Police say the bus driver tried to avoid the woman, but the vehicle hit the bike and ran over her. She was declared dead at the scene.
The woman’s name and age haven’t been released.
Streets near where the accident occurred remain closed while police investigate. Officials say the roads may be blocked through the morning commute.
