PITTSBURGH (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a four-alarm fire killed an elderly woman and destroyed her home, also severely damaging her sister’s home next door.

Fire crews in Pittsburgh were called to the Hill District blaze shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said firefighters recovered the 95-year-old woman’s body shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday from the collapsed building.

Authorities initially thought that both women were unaccounted for but the 91-year-old sister returned from shopping while crews were fighting the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
