JOURDANTON, Texas (AP) - A South Texas grand jury has indicted two people over the December fatal shooting of a San Antonio police officer.
An Atascosa (a-tuhs-KOH’-suh) County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Jenevieve Ramos and Shawn Ruiz Puente on charges of capital murder and aggravated assault on a peace officer.
The case involves the Dec. 8 shooting of Officer Robert Deckard during a chase through several counties following a convenience store robbery. The pursuit began in Bexar (bayr) County. Both suspects were found hiding in a ravine.
Deckard died Dec. 20.
