TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Snow is starting to taper off across New Jersey, but not before slowing the ride to work in many parts of the state.

The roads are slippery, mainly from Monmouth County south. Franklin Township in Gloucester County received 4 inches of snow. Manahawkin in Ocean County has little more than 3 inches and Asbury Park in Monmouth County is reporting 2 inches.

Many schools have closed for the day.

It will remain bitter cold after the snow ends. Wind chill will make it feel colder.
