SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police in Syracuse say they’re investigating the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man who was gunned down while standing on a city street.
Officials say Lavon Spaights of Syracuse was standing outside a residence on Shonnard Street when he was shot shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses tell police that he was arguing with several people when he was hit by the gunfire.
Officers say Spaights ran to a nearby market and collapsed. He was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
No arrests have been reported. The investigation is continuing.
