WAHOO, Neb. (AP) - A Cedar Bluffs man has been sent to prison in a child sexual assault case.

Saunders County District Court records say 50-year-old Richard Strenger on Monday was sentenced to five years for sexual assault of a child, first offense; 30 to 40 years for attempted sexual assault of a child; and 20 months to five years for felony possession of a controlled substance. The sentences are to be served at the same time. He was credited for 218 days already served.

Prosecutors dropped five other counts in exchange for Strenger’s no-contest and guilty pleas.

Investigators say a child was sexually assaulted at Strenger’s home on several different occasions.
