WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Authorities in Williston have charged a man with murder after uncovering a body beneath a mattress discarded along U.S. Highway 1804 about 13 miles east of the city.
The Williston Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1a1H1x7 ) Tovias Carrillo was being held Wednesday on $1 million bond in the death of 51-year-old Juan Palacios. Authorities allege Carrillo shot Palacios on Jan. 18 or 19 in Williston, and threatened people on Dec. 9 and Jan 24.
Carrillo is charged with murder and two counts of terrorizing. Court documents don’t list an attorney for him, nor do they give an age or hometown.
Williston police on Monday asked for the public’s help in finding the mattress, which they called a key piece of evidence. The mattress - and Palacios’ body - were found a day later.
