Lumber mill worker killed in accident in Grayson

FRIES, Va. (AP) - Police say a worker has died after falling into machinery at a lumber mill in Grayson County.

Grayson County Sheriff Richard Vaughan tells WDBJ-TV (https://bit.ly/1nkFmq0 ) that the accident occurred Wednesday morning at C&B Lumber near Fries.

Vaughan identified the victim as 55-year-old Dennis Carlie Johnson of the Fries area.

Investigators believe Johnson’s clothing pulled him into a conveyor belt and pulley mechanism as he was trying to clear lumber that had jammed.
