WEST WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - West Warwick police say they arrested a Cranston youth coach after finding illegal drugs at his adult video store.
Forty-eight-year-old Glen Lonardo was arrested on drug crimes earlier this month. Police allege he was selling narcotics called “bath salts” that contain synthetic cathinone, an amphetamine-like stimulant.
Lonardo was a coach and board member with the Cranston League for Cranston’s Future sports and youth development program. WPRI-TV reports he resigned from the organization Friday.
Police says they found numerous packages of the so-called bath stores while executing a search warrant at an adult video and smoke shop Lonardo owns on Quaker Lane in West Warwick.
Lonardo posted bail and is to appear in court in April. He didn’t respond to calls seeking comment.
