RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The women’s golf team at Arkansas Tech has been selected to win the Great American Conference championship this spring.
The school announced Wednesday that league coaches had picked the Golden Suns to take the title.
Arkansas Tech had five top-three finishes in tournaments during the fall season. Two-time league player of the year Rebecka Surteval averaged 73.3 strokes per round and shot par or better three times. Surtevall last fall didn’t finish out of the top 10 in all five fall events.
Tech will play Feb. 24-25 at Austin, Texas, and also in four spring tournaments before the league championship April 13-15 in Hot Springs.
