COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The snow storm that has moved across South Carolina has left several thousand people without electricity.

South Carolina Electric & Gas said Wednesday morning that about 5,000 customers were without service. Almost all are in the Charleston area.

Duke Energy reports about 700 customers without service in the Lake City area previously serviced by Progress Energy.



No significant problems were reported elsewhere Wednesday morning.
