CLAY, N.Y. (AP) - The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office says a 25-year-old Oswego County woman has died after she lost control of her car on an icy road in suburban Syracuse and crashed into a sport utility vehicle.

The sheriff’s office tells local media outlets that Christine Knighton of Pennellville was driving a Hyundai east on Route 31 in Clay around 12:45 p.m. Monday when she slid into oncoming traffic.

Knighton was pronounced dead at a Syracuse hospital. A pregnant passenger in the SUV, 28-year-old Emma Wilson of Cato, was taken to a hospital with a leg injury.
