BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - A bank robber who wore a blond wig and a knee brace during a Texas holdup and then fled to Louisiana has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison.
Prosecutors in Beaumont on Monday announced the penalty for 50-year-old Allen Keith Miller of Cameron, La. Miller last August pleaded guilty to bank robbery.
Investigators say Miller last June entered a Capital One Bank in Orange while disguised with a wig, a baseball cap, a shirt, tan pants and a black knee brace. No weapon was displayed during the robbery in which Miller stole near $1,000, which he must repay.
Miller was stopped in Louisiana and officers found his disguise in the vehicle.
