QUINCY, Mass. (AP) - A Braintree man charged with using a pickax to rob a Quincy pizza shop is headed to court.

Police say a man wearing a respirator mask and wielding the 3-foot pickax entered a Domino’s on Sunday morning and started wielding it in a threatening manner, demanding cash from the register.

As employees backed away and called police, the suspect grabbed about $90 and fled, leaving the pickax behind. The theft was captured on video surveillance.

Police tell WCVB-TV (https://bit.ly/1b0jH15 ) that the pickax and mask had been taken from a car reported stolen hours earlier in Hingham. The owner of the car is a stonemason.

The suspect, 27-year-old John Waschela, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Quincy District Court. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.
