CHESTERTON, Ind. (AP) - The operator of the South Shore commuter line says it’s resuming train service between Michigan City and South Bend on Wednesday.
The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District announced Tuesday it would resume train service between the two northern Indiana cities after busing passengers since Monday because of the extreme cold in the region.
The operator of the line serving commuters to Chicago says that until temperatures moderate, passengers should anticipate weather-related delays and plan trips accordingly. It says the prolonged cold period continues to strain mechanical and track systems.
