Police: New Britain woman’s death is suspicious

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - New Britain police say the death of a woman found at an apartment complex appears to be suspicious.

Officers say they found the woman dead in an apartment Monday afternoon during a welfare check at The Regency complex for people ages 55 and older. Her name hasn’t been released.

The chief medical examiner’s office will be performing an autopsy to try to confirm her identity and determine how she died.

Police haven’t release details of why they consider the death to be suspicious.

State police and the New Britain state’s attorney’s office are helping city police with the investigation.
