BEND, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon State Police spokesman says a Fish and Wildlife trooper gave chase southwest of Bend when he spotted a man driving a stolen red Cadillac Eldorado.
Lt. Steve Mitchell says the driver of the stolen car took off at a high rate of speed Monday afternoon but the trooper was able to catch up once the Cadillac turned onto dirt roads. The Cadillac also ground to a halt after sustaining undercarriage damage and a flat tire on the rough roads.
Mitchell says the driver then tried to run but was arrested.
Richard Roy of Shady Cove was booked into jail on a felony parole violation warrant and for investigation of new offenses including felony attempt to elude in a vehicle, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
