CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A St. Louis County man has been sentenced to three years in prison for injecting his wife with a fatal dose of heroin.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1k2WQo7 ) reports that 32-year-old Anthony Smalley of Lemay was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Charly Smalley’s body was found on June 26, 202, in the street. An autopsy showed she died of a heroin overdose.



Authorities say her husband injected the drug into her arm in an apartment. Smalley says he tried to resuscitate his wife, but she never regained consciousness.
