PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Ingalls Shipbuilding says its shipyards in Gulfport and Pascagoula are closing with the threat of snow and freezing rain.

Shipyard officials tell WLOX-TV (https://bit.ly/MpQsvZ ) that all employees, except essential personnel notified by their supervisors, would be sent home before noon.

Second and third work shifts for both shipyards are also canceled for later on Tuesday.

The yards expect to resume normal operations on Wednesday, company officials say.
