SHINNSTON, W.Va. (AP) - Fire officials are investigating a fire that destroyed a former school in Harrison County.

Shinnston Volunteer Fire Department chief Doug Gregory tells media outlets that there didn’t appear to be any utilities in the former Wyatt School.

Seven fire departments responded to the fire, which occurred early Monday morning.

Firefighters saved an old gymnasium adjacent to the three-story brick school building.
