PHOENIX (AP) - An April 9 trial has been set for a Tempe man charged in the stabbing death of a Scottsdale nightclub bouncer.

Ian MacDonald has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Tyrice Thompson.

Authorities say MacDonald stabbed Thompson five times in the back, hip and arm after a fight inside Martini Ranch in late January 2013.

Thompson died several days later.
