SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Both the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University South Bend have canceled classes because of hazardous road conditions in northern Indiana.

Notre Dame officials say the campus will be closed through at least 6 p.m. Tuesday, while IUSB called off all classes and campus activities for Monday.

The two schools made the decision after St. Joseph County declared a travel warning, asking no one to travel except for emergency reasons. About a dozen counties across northern Indiana have issued similar warnings.

Trine University in Angola also closed Monday, as did dozens of school districts throughout northern Indiana.
